Jambu
Jambu, or acmella oleracea, is a flowering herb found throughout the Amazon and other warm, humid climates.
Jambu opens the taste buds and provides a stimulating and numbing experience. Fun and stimulating, this sensation is considered aphrodisium (aphrodisium) in Brazil.
Scientists say the tingling property comes from the spilanthol compound, a local anesthetic. It has gained some notoriety as the active ingredient in Biotlin, which some celebrities call “organic Botox” (Kim Kardashian bought the rights to the product in 2015). Traditionally, however, the extract has been used to treat ailments ranging from toothaches to fevers.
